Rex Payne, M.D. is one of the only practicing Dermatologist who is also a board certified Dermatopathologist in the state of Alabama. Dermatopathology is the process of analyzing the skin at the tissue level. Dr. Payne diagnoses many skin disorders and malignancies during this process. We maintain a Level B laboratory status with the Commission on Laboratory Assessment. The added benefit of a resident Dermatopathologist to our Dermatology practice gives our patients full diagnostic services under the care of one physician.
